I wish modern gaming peripherals were designed more with wear in mind, most of them just get really smooth and shiny

I mean, the main problem is that plastic doesn't wear as nicely as metal or wood

but still, a DS Lite with scratches and dings from being carried around everywhere tells a story

the original iPod's back went from a mirror finish to a kinda chaotic brushed look with scratches which looks really nice

@mkb I don't think those tiny hard drives get made any more
