Does anyone have experience with restoring N64 analog sticks? I have one original one where I'd like to replace the bowl and a gamecube-style one that has a horrible curve (it basically outputs either 0% or 100%), I'd like to replace that one with one that actually works

Was thinking of ordering some old-joystick-style replacements off Aliexpress and just see how well they work or if I can at least use them for parts

:boost_ok:

@noiob I have swapped them whole between two controllers (turning two bad ones into one that works). It was years ago but I remember it being pretty easy. I did also buy a bunch of cheap aftermarket controllers which were pretty much all adequate (stick a bit too hard to move but not terribly, probably fixable with some graphite or whatever, never bothered)

@halcy yeah, I've opened the whole thing before, that's not my problem, I want to have a chance to get some decent sticks, it's really hard to aim with what I have right now
