How does #Steam's controller registration system work, anyway? It lets me name my controller, assign it a light color and things, and it seems to imply it can /take this configuration with me/ if I use the same controller on another machine.

Does my PS4 controller have onboard storage it saves these on?

Does it save some serial number or something on their servers, then download the configs if I plug it into someone else's machine? That would explain why it's janky offline.

@IceWolf the second part, and I assume it syncs over all your controller settings when you log in

@IceWolf oh and also if you connect your controller at a friend's computer it'll recognize it as yours and pull your config, it's that good

@noiob Yeah, that's what I was suspecting it would do. *wolfgrin*

@IceWolf (that includes the button configs per game)
