I wish it was more well-known that there's CSS properties to tell the browser that an image should be nearest-neighbor scaled

it breaks my heart every time I see pixel art blurred to heck by scaling algorithms

png metadata that specifies the scaling algorithm

@haskal idk, you'd have to standardize it to the point where most popular viewers respect it

@haskal thinking about making a Masto issue to add "pixelate" metadata to image uploads, it'd fit neatly in the "Edit Media" dialog and frontends could then scale stuff properly
