hmm. redirecting anything.dev to localhost is becoming less practical now that people other than google are allowed to register real .dev domains
i just tried switching it to anything.lo, like loopback? but browsers think that's not a real tld (presumably because it isn't) and assume i wanted to search for it instead of go there, which is not ideal. it works but you have to insist to the browser "no i definitely really wanted the domain i asked for"
what are other folks using for their loopback tld? the most technically correct loopback would be anything.localhost, but that's super long and i hate it

@noiob yeah i know, i checked the spec
making .invalid "valid" seems like a bad idea and .local actually means "other systems on your local area network" rather than loopback
the other three are totally viable for this purpose though
they're just, all longer than either .dev or .lo, which for some reason i have decided is more important than whether i need to type "https://". i don't know
mostly i didn't like the connotations of .test, which would otherwise be the best choice
