Speedrunning in a nutshell is a bunch of people playing the same game over and over again hoping for the 1 in a billion RNG alignment and when they get it, their run gets dismissed as cheated anyway because we could never tell for sure when people cheated or not.

@trysdyn "when they get it, their run gets dismissed as cheated anyway" is a statistical error, Cheater Georg who has impossibly good luck is a statistical outlier and should not be counted
also most speedrunning communities are tiny and don't make people famous or rich, so there's little incentive to cheat, and only people who really know the game will be able to make a convincing fake (and even they usually mess it up)
@noiob That is uh... not the experience I've had with my eight years of being a speedrunner and mod of about two dozen LBs, no. I've had people submit cheated runs of games only I ran, for a week.
