oh come on, I tried updating my PS2's FreeMcBoot install and broke my existing one

now I have to either use FreeHDboot or FreeDVDboot to fix it but that sounds like work

FreeHDboot sounds like it'd be easy to install but I can't find any 'official' documentation on it

FreeDVDboot is cool and everything but I only have blank CDs and those won't work, it specifically exploits the DVD player

hm, it also isn't guaranteed to work on all PS2s since the dev has to make it work on every DVD player version separately

I guess I'll have to wait until I can give my memory card to a friend who can just reinstall FreeMCboot to it using his own PS2

@noiob i just realized it's "free memory card boot" and not like

something adjacent to booty mcbootface

@monorail yeah it's way older than that meme

I think it's named that way so that it's immediately obvious that it's not a commercial product and hopefully less people get ripped off paying for it
