Haha fuck. In Other M when you beat the game you can skip cutscenes in subsequent playthroughs. But it adds to the in game timer the amount of time the skipped cutscene takes. So you can have a run that has an in game time that’s longer than it actually was. Metroid speedrunners almost always use in game timers but not for Other M!

The only time I’ve seen in game timers be a well justified metric is Goldeneye. Cuz of the lag some runs can be slightly faster than others purely to luck. So they use the time given at the end of levels since that is the same across all of them.
