I wanted to listen to music while repairing my PC. Normally I listen on my PC. Can't do that now of course.

That's OK though, my music collection is also on my phone's SD card. But my phone's speaker isn't that great. My CRT TV has nice speakers! Why don't I play it on an old game console into the TV?

Neither Wii nor ps3 can read the card through my phone. But the Wii has an SD card slot. So I use a USB OTG adapter to copy Mplayer from the Wii SD card to my phone SD card and put the phone's card in the Wii and load Mplayer off it.

Unfortunately Mplayer seems to lack auto play.

And yeah... I'm playing music on a CRT TV. Great use of tech. Especially as I chose the Wii over PS3 for consuming less energy.

@onfy the PS3 has native DLNA support but I don't think being able to share files to the network is a feature in a lot of phones. LG seems to include it

@noiob Does the ps3 even play flac that way? Probably needs homebrew too.

@onfy apparently not. It does ATRAC and WMA though 😄
