I've been looking at what kinds of TVs are for sale these days in our capitalist hell world, and I've noticed a few trends:
Almost all TVs now are "smart". The very few that aren't all seem to have extremely low quality hardware.
Almost all smart TVs have MOTHERFUCKING ADS everywhere over the interface. More like smartass TVs if you ask me.
A considerable amount of TVs run Android now, which is fucking horrifying. Might as well make your TV run Windows ME!
Many TVs are doing away with component input now. What the fuck? How am I supposed to play my Wii now?
@noiob isn't that a composite to HDMI converter internally?
Also great that you have to buy more shit. They should give a rebate, making ME buy stuff to use the stupid TV!

The TVs still have composite inputs. Plug in your VCR or NES if you like... just no component. They just removed the two extra RCA plugs...
@noiob Yellow plug. Gives you a 480i video signal with really inaccurate colour reproduction.

@onfy (we use SCART, which is also a dying breed, but I assume mostly because the plug is huge)
