tbh it's a shame that the popular perception of classic tomb raider is "big tiddy woman with guns" and not "you solve puzzles in maze-like ruins and the enemies range from guy on a skateboard to evil doppelgänger of yourself to literal god"

@noiob To say nothing of the fact that one of the early "bosses" of the first game is a goddamn T-Rex living in a cavern in Peru and you kill it with a couple of relative pea shooters.

@Jo I mean if you use the pistols it does take a while

@noiob I don't think you get the shotgun until a while after, unless there's one buried in a secret I've missed.

@Jo also there's a little alcove you can climb into to safely kill the t-rex, if you're a coward (I know I was on my first playthrough 😄)

@noiob I usually manage to topple it before it gets a bite in by moonsaulting away when it gets close, all the while blamming away at it.

I kind of instinctively go for the cogs first, which is possibly why I keep forgetting I can go get that shotty first.

@noiob I remember when I was younger I hadn't played all the way through Tomb Raider 1 because hard and scary, but I had a magazine guide, and I distinctly remember reading about "you gotta kill the cowboy, then the bald guy and then the skater" and I was like ?????
