@noiob how much do you work for
@onfy I'm not a translator
@noiob That clearly isn't a problem here.
@onfy well, it is if they want to hire me
@noiob Well darn. Nepotism will get you far.
@onfy they could just hire professionals, they have the budget
@noiob They do.
I probably don't.
@onfy you didn't release Tetris Effect: Connected on Steam though
@noiob True.
But I do have aspirations to release an adventure game. Now imagine how enjoyable one of those is with a shit translation.
@onfy just… don't put out a translation if you can't afford it. A lot of people know English
@noiob They way I see it is a lot of people don't. Oh well.
Au moins que les français vont aimer le jeu.
@onfy In Germany most people learn it in school, sometimes starting in first grade
@noiob Yet somehow it seems Germans love playing games in German. I always hear that adventures need to at least have German text to sell well in Germany.
Who knows about other things though. But German game localizations are quite common for sure.
@onfy idk I'm not the target audience for point-n-click
@noiob swedish amazon was a great example at launch because you can probably guess how they translated rapeseed (the plant) and cock (the bird)
