pretty happy with it

just saying, I'd buy a high-dpi version of this in a heartbeat, the dithering would look so much better and you could put fine details on it

the biggest limitation of the tech is that it only does full tones, a pixel can really only be one of seven colors, no shading. Works out well if you only work in those colors though, and the occasional image won't look bad if you adjust brightness/contrasts/saturaion and dither it well

like, this is the progress pride flag and a random image search for "pop art" at 40% extra saturation, you can tell which parts work well but from a bit of a distance even the light blue and pink look good

now that I think about it, printing with a fixed set of colors works the exact same way

okay wow, they actually make eInk displays that can blend colors, that's amazing

@starkatt apparently a better driver could even mix the colors, which kinda blows my mind. probably wouldn't help the 30 second refresh time though
