oh cool google's contacts app doesn't let me move contacts to/from third party contacts providers anymore. i can move it from the device to my google account and back but that's it

meanwhile it happily shows me every other contact which comes from davx but if i forget to fuckin press the dropdown and select the correct address book before saving a contact it is now forever in google limbo

ah cool, judging from the help files, this is fully intentional. it explicitly says i can move contacts *to a google account*

time to switch to some janky app from fdroid

i love having the freedom to choose between the app that's bad unintentionally or the one that's bad intentionally

a cool feature of the free and open source privacy-respecting dialer i downloaded at the same time as the contacts app is that if my phone rings while it is locked i cannot answer it

it never asked for the permission to show on the lock screen, so i have to unlock my phone to answer, except pressing the unlock button means "ignore". once i do unlock there's nothing, no notification, nothing in the dialer app, it's silently ringing in the background and 10 seconds later it will say "missed call"
