sizes for clothing

this is just a table of arcane symbols and if I decode it correctly I might get clothes that fit me

why do we not have tech that has me do a full body scan once and then just cloth-sims the stuff onto that model so I can try stuff on on my computer

@noiob We don't? Huh. Let's create it. And add a feature so you can customize your clothes, send the calculated sewing patterns to some company somewhere and get your clothes sent to you once they're ready.

@Denian I mean that's just a tailor, those exist and will probably work off of measurements you send them

@noiob Yeah, except for the 3D model of yourself you could technically send along.

I actually thought about a project like that before. Wanted to use a bunch of cheap cameras - basically ESP-EYEs or similar - and basically combine photogrammetry, multi-frame image super-resolution and something like a genetic algorithm to calculate the closest possible human model using a standard skeleton and parameter set from some 3D modelling tool.

@noiob Though tbh., the only application I thought about were VR avatars 😅

@Denian looking at VR Chat, I think the market for "accurate" VR avatars is limited

@noiob Never used it myself. No idea whether people don't want accurate avatars or simply don't want to spend time creating one, but the idea was more for famous people to come in - maybe even actors in their more famous roles - and get themselves scanned so they can sell their avatars online. Pretty sure lots of people would buy those.
