@noiob Ok you did make me think of something... I have an R4 clone I bought from a fishy website very many years ago... long enough ago that flash cards were still banned on ebay and I'm not sure if ali was a thing yet... but it stopped working years ago and I never got it to read an SDHC card... I wonder if there's a way to identify just what the hell it actually it, or even to revive it.

@noiob Unfortunately I really think mine is probably the one that says

"R4 DS (gray, AliExpress clone): Identical (1:1) clones original R4 are available on AliExpress, however they are not recommended due to only supporting 2 GB or smaller microSD cards

These clones on AliExpress can be identified by their green PCB and lack of a label in a shell otherwise similar to timebomb clones"

So I'm probably boned on the old one. But on the bright side I can probably get a new one mailed to me from China for 10 bucks or less so..... who freaking cares!

I don't have a DS and only quite recently got myself a GBA flashcart so I can't say much about these

@noiob A GBA flashcard is something I may even get more use out of, so I should definitely check one of those out! I've wanted one for years.

@noiob Wow, I love all all the DS options are "best card, costs $5-10" and for GBA the best cards cost around 100 bucks.

Especially since I'm not sure buying an Everdrive is exactly a thing right now anyway.

@onfy I got an EZ Flash Omega Definitive Edition for 55£ back in January from an eBay seller who sent it from France which is interesting considering the currency it's displaying me now? Had to return one because it somehow bricked and the recovery process didn't work. Still, a really good card, I'd buy it again except now it's a good bit more expensive, so maybe not

@noiob It seems like some ebay sellers list an item in multiple currencies, but due to fluctuations in the currency's value, one listing becomes a few cents cheaper than the others.

I thought maybe one of the old models might be cheaper to get since they're considered a bit useless these days, but they seem to be selling for over $200, wtf.
