@noiob This is also making me wonder what the line is (aside from the physical aspect) between toys-to-life, DLC, micro transactions, loot boxes, etc is.
@onfy I guess getting duplicate toys would be very frustrating while duplicate cards are normal
@noiob I guess there's the space aspect, but think about if you want a particular character, so you buy a pack and of course they're not in it. You buy another... nope. Bad enough when you're an adult, imagine a kid needing to beg their parents for cards... though that is already a thing.
It's bad enough already trying to get your favourite Animal Crossing villager.
@noiob Aren't the toys at least, not randomized? You can pick which one you get?
I guess being randomized is also true of most Amiibo cards... but I don't think there's any game where they're strictly required either.
