@noiob i mean if u take "how much is it exactly indistinguishably like the thing it looks like" as the one and only criterium, yeah, but that inevitably sets it up for failure doesnt it
i feel like that perspective misses out on a lot
a burger made of some lesser known kind of meat wouldnt be automatically inferior just bc it doesnt taste just like beef, why should a vegan burger be

@mxdragon there's a difference between a patty that's like, bean- or potato based or sth like tofu and a patty that's specifically engineered to imitate meat

@mxdragon personally I just don't consider myself the target demographic for imitation meat, I don't really need a "replacement". I still buy some because it's tasty
