@noiob It usually isn't literal. If you do actually have a bank account you're encouraged to be paid by direct deposit, though it isn't required.
But if you don't have a bank account or they don't have direct deposit info you actually do still get a cheque.
@noiob Imagine not having to pay in order to have income! That sounds so socialist.
Here in Canada we have a "payday loan" and cheque cashing company here called... Actually I think we have multiple? Whatever. They cash paycheques without needing a bank because many people literally can't afford an account, but they take a large portion for themselves. The loans are at a ridicule interest rate. Very predatory.
It seems like there's one on every street corner.
