I've come to the realization that people like Twitter because it's kind of an internet phone book. Mastodon can't replace that for simple technical reasons and it hurts Mastodon to market itself as a Twitter replacement
@noiob i feel like that's what facebook's selling point is, too, perhaps more so. twitter is the internet phone book for people who don't like facebook
