@noiob i mean business-wise they probably made the right decision since they got it out of the door earlier and still sold a record amount of copies, so
@Claire Arceus has polish issues but god it looks like a final product and not like a prototype that's a year off from launch

Makes me wonder if it's a similar situation as Cyberpunk 2077. They use their own engine so they have to build the mechanics for open world from scratch, that ends up breaking the core game that they use.
@Ironraptor nah they split their team between Arceus and SV and had too little time and budget for their ambitions (which is a shame, their ambitions were good)
@noiob I think the shame is that because of IP laws, anyone who tries to make the open world Pokemon of their dreams and actually have pokemon in it ends up a criminal and has to do shady stuff in dark places.
Which they do? I'm not sure if there's an open world one yet, but there are some impressive underground pokemon games.
@noiob Arceus released this very same year, couldn't they have waited 6 months to a year more
