also not real bicycle infrastructure: low traffic two-lane roads that they turned into a single two-way car lane and two bike lanes, with signs at each end saying "dear cars, please stay in the middle but swerve into the bike lane if another car is coming the other way"

i see what they're trying to do there but in practice i rarely see a car actually stay in the middle lane. they just stay halfway into the bike lane unless they're overtaking a bike. so they're driving the same as if it was a regular ass two lane road with no bike lane

was met with disbelief so i thought id post a picture. coincidentally i was near one of those roads today

there's a sidewalk here so it looks like a street but it disappears like 100m out, i just didn't feel like walking any further to take another picture

@codl is that really a bike lane? usually if there's only a dashed line it's an artificially narrowed road to slow down cars. In Germany a "Schutzstreifen" (protective lane) has to have a picture of a bike on it and a real bike lane has to have a sign
