Computer help wanted:

New laptop. Everything was working fine until this random red line appeared. It WENT AWAY during a Bios update, but came back. Resetting didn't fix it. Attempting downloads of optional updates currently.

Talked with a friend about it, and she believes it's probably a driver/graphics card issue. If there's a reasonably non-drastic way to fix it, I'm all ears.

I'm still in the return window, but I /REALLY/ don't want to have to go through ANOTHER computer.

@CatComixzStudios does it show up all the time the screen is on or only after the OS starts loading?

@noiob As far as I can tell, it only seems to show up with the OS. The boot-up screen is mostly black, and as far as I can tell, it doesn't show up there.

@CatComixzStudios how about in the bios? or if you change the screen resolution

@noiob Yeah, weirdly for the Asus Bios Utility thing, it doesn't show up there either. Changing the screen resolution doesn't seem to work; the line stays in a consistent spot along the screen. It doesn't seem effected by anything in particular.

@CatComixzStudios hm, weird. Doesn't sound like a software problem to me though, more like there's something wrong with the display

@noiob Ugh, that's what I'm afraid of. Some people seem to think it's the OS, but I wouldn't know the first thing about trying to restart/reset it if that's the issue.
