I did something fun this week: I made a typewriter simulator!

It ended up being more complex than it seemed. You can overtype, rotate paper, set margins, use Wite-Out, change ribbons… Let me know what you make!

@mwichary oo that rules. I feel like it should somewhat respond to typing too quickly. It irks me when I type something and the characters show up with the animation out of sync… then again maybe some frustrations of using a typewriter should be left to the real deal

Rotating the paper makes the ratcheting sound a bunch, I think that's a bug? Running Firefox 110.0.1 on Windows 10

@noiob Is there a chance you could take a lil video of your screen or screen recording? I can’t reproduce on Firefox. But maybe you could Shift reload first? I just pushed a small change that maybe fixed it.

@mwichary reloading didn't fix it. I can record a video in a bit, but maybe this helps already: It seems to receive keydown events for shift all the time while I'm holding it down, whether I'm dragging or not

@noiob Weird! This should only be happening if you are physically moving the mouse.
