I got a vintage label maker and wow, they really don't make them like they used to (the top sample is from a modern one for comparison)

I wonder what material these old ones are made of, they clearly have the wheel pressed on them
@Siph there are aftermarket tapes that should be just as good

@noiob A former roomie snagged one from their old workplace - quite a nice little unit, printing on some kind of thermal tape paper, so the print was very nicely defined, and no faffing around with selecting each letter in turn. Not too horribly expensive on eBay and the like, either - worth a look, if you have the need and aren't set on that specific aesthetic.

there even used to be ones with swappable wheels for different fonts
