on today’s episode of “luna finds out about new features that might already be publically listed somewhere”: iOS 17 allows you to add pronouns to your contacts (and your own contact card*) :3

*I don’t know if you can share that extra info via NameDrop (another new iOS 17 feature I haven’t tried yet, where you can exchange contact info by holding your and someone else’s phone closely together) tho…

@luna neato, I wonder how it shows up in a vcard file

@luna lmaoooo

nice to have it in a software-consumable way though, I wonder if any Apple software already utilizes it

@luna also I kinda want there to be a bug in the json parser so you can have RCE via pronouns

@noiob ngl I would love to experiment with that but motivation to actually do that is currently very low :(

(imagine actually finding a way to jailbreak an iPhone this way, would be fun! (yea okay, my expectations are “maybe some RCE is possible but not to this level…”))

@noiob ngl that would be awesome if Apple already implemented it (but idk where to look) sdijnfsgdfighd

@luna at least it's not a plist

or worse, a bplist

@luna @noiob that AAAAA at the end implies that the JSON blob ends in a bunch of NUL bytes, which is ... smdh
