@noiob Those new Casio watches with Polar sensors ( https://www.casio.com/de/watches/gshock/product.DW-H5600MB-1/ ) really made me want one
The concept seems really great to me (but I'm not sure if the real product itself is the right fit for me. And nothing will ever compare to my beloved dead Pebble HR 2 :( )
@Larymir I really don't like the design on this one and more than twice as expensive… I'm wearing a Pixel Watch these days and I'd like an alternative that's less techy and more sturdy
What broke on your P2? I repaired mine a few times, might be able to give you some pointers
@noiob
Uh, good question. I have one used from eBay where the battery stopped working and my original just never turned on again after running empty I think?
But I think I never threw them away, so if you still have some pointers for me.. :)
@Larymir hm, it's probably really hard to find good batteries aymore… my brother got one that was supposed to fit but it was too thick for the thing to close (great battery life though), I got a new old stock front case + battery replacement at some point (someone on aliexpress had a few trays from production) and the battery was never great. I don't think it did more than two days when I last used it
@noiob too big for the case seems like a problem one could fix with a 3D printer..
Do you have a link to a specific shop for the replacement your brother got? And maybe a guide for changing the battery itself?
@Larymir it was a random aliexpress product that isn't up anymore, unfortunately
changing the battery is quite straightforward, you pop out the back (it's glued, but not too hard), locate the battery and desolder it / solder in the new one
@Larymir ah, it was a Sony SBH-20 battery, there's a few on aliexpress but I can't vouch for any. I've had bad experiences with cameron sino though, so I'd advise against that brand
@noiob Thanks!
Also my buttons are totally unusable you do not happen to have any tips on how to repair them? (I used to repair them with sugru, but it seems like that made the rubber beneath strangely soft and now it's too squishy to push the real button)
@Larymir I bought a flexible 3D print from someone online once, I did a writeup of the different materials he sent me on reddit (image links are dead, unfortunately), later I replaced the whole front assembly with a new old stock part
@noiob thank you! It's not spam if I asked for it and it's helping :)
@Larymir oh! and sorry for the spam but there's also a 3D printable replacement case that works with Pebble 1 buttons, but you'd need to source those. I think the best way to get parts is the unofficial Discord, it should be linked somewhere on the subreddit
