@noiob Aw, I was expecting a way to get video out without the dock.
@onfy what dock? iPads should work directly with anything that supports displayport via USB-C
@onfy oh, the Switch's? I use the Skull&Co one that works with my iPad as well, super compact and doesn't need the Switch power supply, there's also at least one portable monitor with USB-C that doesn't need the dock
@onfy the image above uses a cheapo USB-C capture card from AliExpress, USB video is fairly different from Displayport alternate mode, it's primarily designed for webcams and that's why iPad OS now supports it
@noiob Well, I kinda assumed they had figured out a way to get video directly from the Switch's USB port. Using a capture card sounds boring in some way... though that you can get a decent one for $20 sounds interesting. I was asked by somebody to recommend a good cheap one but didn't feel comfortable grabbing some random one.
@onfy eh, random USB capture cards can be decent or they introduce a good bit of lag, it's a bit of a gamble if you wanna play from the output. mine has passthrough but it doesn't have the advertised 1080p (it upscales 720p to it lol) and the color saturation is way too high
@noiob Yeah, don't wanna make it too much of a hassle.
