also really fucking hate how postgres installs a bunch of global management commands called shit like initdb and createdb, so it's impossible to delve into my history to find how i set this hateful thing up before

I have never once in my life needed to upgrade a MySQL/MariaDB database

and I don't understand why it's considered okay for Postgres to just brick your entire database until you run some shitty manual migration that requires the old server still be installed
