one of my favourite pieces of pokemon trivia is that

they stopped doing custom cartridge colours for pokemon games after gen 3. so if you say "what was the last pokemon game to have its cartridge colour match the game title" you may be tempted to say emerald

but DS game with special DSi features had black cartridges, including Pokemon Black 2

@monorail so it's not black because it's a a DSi game but because it has an IR transmitter inside

@noiob i mean, surely they could have made it ir transparent but also a different colour to the human eye

dsi-enhanced games were black so i assume that's why they went with black

@monorail idk if there's many other ir transparent materials that are opaque to visible light, remotes are always black at the business end
