This feels like one of those societal rules you only understand if you live in an area with escalators. I've never seen something like this published before explicitly telling you to stand on the right so people can pass on the left

@kamiten it really depends on the region, in Germany there's plenty of escalators and no one does this

@kamiten from the one time I was in London (using the Tube a lot though) it seemed fine, imo the goal isn't maximum throughput, it's letting people who are in a rush go faster
