Software engineer resume question
So I’m temporarily working a part-time retail job while I’m continuing my search for a full-time software engineer job. It’s a tech-related retail job, people come to the store when they have tech issues. If it’s something small then I try to help them with it on the spot, but if it’s a bigger issue or a damaged device then I tell them “come back in __ days and we’ll have it fixed for you”. Don’t want to say the company name just in case lol but you can probably guess.
I’m interviewing with multiple companies for a software engineer position (the process is taking forever) but I’m still applying to more places just in case. I updated my resume to include this retail job I’m working. Is this a good idea? On one hand, I don’t want it to look like there’s a gap in my resume. On the other hand, I heard that it’s not a good idea to put retail jobs on your resume if you’re looking to be a software engineer because it’s “not relevant”. But it is tech-related so idk. #tech #jobs
