wait a fucking second: This smartphone has a FLIR camera built in, and also the GPS has broken so that it doesn't work while you're in motion. This isn't a hardware failure, this is a software bug they delivered in an update.
I thought this was just incompetence but I just had the horrific thought that this might have been on purpose, and related to the fact it has FLIR
like, I know there's restrictions on GPS units because of the worry that they might be used in missiles, and there's similar restrictions on FLIR units, but maybe there's some additional restrictions on devices that can do the combination of FLIR/GPS?
Maybe Ulefone broke their GPS system on purpose because otherwise this phone would violate some kind of import restriction?
also when I googled Ulefone it just gave me a bunch of shopping links and then told me that some results were limited because of DMCA requests.
