I have a shitload of music on my (debian) NAS and want to play it on my AppleTV. I have no other apple devices in this household.

What are my options to get the music playing on the appletv, ideally without having to buy some other apple device or buying some sort of subscription service?

@kunsi host it via smb or sth and play it in vlc

@noiob Does VLC do some sort of library/filesystem browsing feature?

@kunsi it can browse filesystems, yeah. It's not great but it'll play your music, at least it does on Google TV and iPad OS, so I assume it works on Apple TV
