I'm salty about android
you know what fucking sucks. remember when android was like the power user epic customizable phone os and ios didn't even have copy and paste. over the years ios has gained plenty of power user features like shortcuts and Android has gained fucking gemini and lost a dozen good but unprofitable third party software keyboards
monkey paw curls, re: I'm salty about android
at the next Google IO they're going to release AI shortcuts where you have to describe in text what you want done like "please open tusky, press compose and type 'why shrek is piss' then tap send" and the powerful AI chip in the pixel 12 (feature only available on the new pixel 12) will navigate through the app for you in 1x speed and you can't use your phone while it does this

I don't even know why I mentioned shortcuts because really the one feature that I'm jealous about is uh, abbreviations. Snippets. I don't know what it's called. The thing where you type a short keyword in any text field anywhere and it expands to whatever string you set it to
re: I'm salty about android
@codl that's not a shortcuts thing innit? and gboard has that feature
re: I'm salty about android
@noiob neat. it should be a system feature so I can use it with another keyboard
re: I'm salty about android
@codl is it a system feature on iOS? Everytime I use another keyboard on there it ends up being even worse than the stock one
