I'll definitely have to invest money in my balcony somehow :thounking: I produce my own soil components but it will be undoable for me to water everyone sufficiently during summer. it's already being too much right *now*. I'll need at least:

- a balcony umbrella. these are expensive, will have to lurk on kleinanzeigen and go travel some nearby city when I find one at a low price.
- trays or dishes for every single pot that doesn't have one, including the wide terracotta pots for Mediterranean herbs, even for them there will be too much sun. I'll have to compromise and go with plastic here, hate using plastic in my gardening but ceramic trays are very expensive and I am responsible for keeping my ecosystem alive through the drough.
- buy a new bathroom tap and sacrifice a Saturday to try to replace it myselves. maybe try to add a T-shaped junction under it (if that can be fitted at all into a bathroom sink), so that I get an outer thread for my garden hose and avoid a retread (pun not intended) of the same problem.
- ideally also get a hose crank to minimise the labour of uncoiling it across the house, if I find a cheap used one

@elilla ikea has a smallish 20€ parasol I've been eyeing but ofc it doesn't come with the stand which is apparently the most expensive part

if you get a t-junction I highly recommend springing for the gardena sb quick connectors, they are very nice and at least the ones at my parents' seem to last forever
