@noiob we should bring this back.
@Nine close-range wireless chat? birthday messages?
@noiob i was meaning like a a bigger, global pictochat. like, shit, if nintendo is gona abandon such a rad fuckin thing, then fuck it it doesn't deserve it. we should have it.
@Nine I mean the whole point of Pictochat is that it works within wifi range
they did have Swapnote later which was global and let you draw fun messages for your friends!
@noiob yeah they also killed that. Guess they were cosplaying as Google at the time
@Nine I mean, 3DS online services were always gonna get shut down eventually. I'm sure it still works with Pretendo, just like Wii Mail does
@noiob nahnah, Swapnote got killed long before the death of the 3ds. :/ Flipnote too, or at least the original one did.
@noiob @Nine I always wondered if there was some security problem with these local area instant wireless connectivity features, or if developing everything for the fucking cloud was just more profitable.
Imagine a healthy mobile games market with these features. Oh my god, that would be so awesome.
(In case you wonder why almost no app has sth. like it: Google and Apple build rivaling & patented standards for it that are purposefully not interoperable = nobody really uses it).
@noiob happied birthday!! aa
@archenoth thank you Arch!
@noiob psp go hell yeah
also oh is it your birthday?
@ChocoMintPuppy it is indeed
@noiob happy bday!!
@ChocoMintPuppy thank u Emi!
@noiob @ChocoMintPuppy happy birthday!!
@pup_hime @ChocoMintPuppy thank you!!
@noiob yes!!! this is such a cute detail (happy birthday???)
@ticky thank you!
the calendar seems to get a special effect too. Also Pokémon, of course, has a whole jingle, animation and special greeting!
I always forget to do this and it doesn't feel right to lie to the game
