it's kinda funny how third-party-controllers went from the cheap second controller your parents got so your little brother could play, too to the really premium controller that works with all your devices, has all the features you'll ever need and will outlast the first-party controller while still being cheaper
@noiob I'm good with my DualSense but damn if my boyfriend's 8BitDo Ultimate 2 isn't nice
@Siph I have their controller adapter dongle and it's so handy to have in my bag of dongles
@noiob I have it and it’s permanently plugged into my Switch 2 dock and I’m considering getting a second one so we can both play with our controllers at the same time
@noiob What's wrong with the Steam Controller 1? A friend of mine has said it's really good
@socks I love the first one but the steam deck has somewhat nicer hardware and I want the extra stick, d-pad and grip buttons

I'm not saying first party controllers are necessarily bad. Potentiometers can be fine, usually a bit of contact cleaner will make them work as new, in my experience with well-used controllers the springs wear out much faster than the pots.
