So I tried it with my personal website, which I think you can read in 5-10 minutes, it's just a resume. But the "AI overview" podcast manages to ramble a quarter hour about nothing.

correction: those "podcasters" did only look at the front page, not at anything more. I'm going to test it with more sources and see how that goes.

while it might sound fun listening to 2 synthetic voices that are VERY hyped about you, my reaction is to cringe even harder.

is it impressive that a machine can generate a script for a podcast and have synthetic voices read it? a little bit, maybe.

but this is coming from one of the biggest tech companies in the world and it's still … bad? the synthetic speech is not able to pronounce anything other than english, it can't even say my last name?

@jollysea glad we're finally solving the big problem of our times, there being not enough podcasts

@noiob it can also generate video, but I'm a little afraid of that
