i keep thinking about that moment in an apple man stream where some guy comes into chat talking about an AI thing and everyone gets mad at them and wayne is like (extremely paraphrased) "wow wow wow hang on AI is not all bad if you run it on your computer"

because like, putting aside the fact that data center power use isn't the only issue. given the same model, is it less harmful to run it on your home computer than on a server in a datacenter? it's kinda complicated to answer

i mean a datacenter is more power efficient than your home computer right?
