TIL, Steam will choose LAN game file transfer regardless of speed.
I guess reducing load first, cilent happiness second in this case.
friend had an ETA of 14hrs, realised it was doing a LAN transfer, disabled it, ETA dropped to 1hr
@LottieVixen I mean most people's local networks should vastly outpace their WAN but also some people have data caps
@noiob yeah I know, just found the situation interesting.
as someone who has lived on many data caps I appreciate it was just weird to me that it was slower in this case.
@LottieVixen that sounds like a suboptimal connection, even on wifi the deck should do a gigabit easily
