I saw some people hyping the new "Pebble" watch and since I'm open to new things, I looked at their website.

Their watches have a mic and speakers. Is that common in "smart watches"? Over 10 years ago, there was a big scandal over the boss of the lux. spy agency recording the Grand-Duke with a "spy watch", I guess nowadays just everybody has a spy watch?

(I guess if you want to record somebody covertly, you could just use your phone, yes.)

@jollysea Pebbles aren't powerful enough to actually record you continuously, at least the original ones had to stream audio to the phone to do anything with it, and iirc they're adding on-device speech-to-text with the new app. But yeah it's pretty common, my Pixel watch can do phone calls. I've used it like twice, it's mostly for telling Google Assistant to turn off my lights
