tried to play some Tomb Raider 2013 but then I got to the horrible stealth-and-getting-spotted-is-instant-death level and ugh that just took all the fun out of it in an instant

@noiob Video games rarely seem to be able to nail stealth. Most times you can't tell if you'll be spotted, and it's easier/faster just to shoot everyone.

The only exceptions I can think of are The Swindle and Invisible, Inc. (which are fundamentally designed around stealth to begin with)

@dickmandrake I feel like it's a trade-off between difficulty and realism, because 100% realistic stealth gameplay will rarely feel fair. I haven't played them lately but I wanna say Dishonored and the Metal Gear do a pretty great job of making gameplay fun while also making a compelling stealth game. Still, DH hast the issue of the violent route being more fun and easier, but it's still very rewarding to finish off a successful stealth segment (and there's the low/high chaos mechanic)
