Today I have been thinking about the beautiful queers of One Piece. How much Luffy loves his GNC BFF, how a group of gender varrying Queens save him from the deathprison. How the okama have carved out a sanctuary in the deathprison to be themselves. How they escape, thrive on their own island, and continue to be an integral part of the story.

FYI to folks just joining that awoo doesn't federate with all instances. Since mastodon.social isn't accepting new folks people are joining random instances not realizing they are more private. I'm sure they are working on this, but it's def in awoo.space's interest to have a clear about and disclaimer pop up when you click on it from the public instances page.
@bunnyhero that's great, they should all do that. So far this community is way better than mastodon.xyz but I wonder if it'll be too insular for me in the future when more friends start to join other instances
Alright sorry here's proper #introductions I'm happy to have stumbled into this instance. I'm Ø.K., I'm GNC/NB. I like zine culture and thinking about ways to dismantle capitalism. Ready to use this space to post Sonic memes and talk about anime. Seems like an ideal instance for that.

@ottumon thanks! I'm liking awoo, I'm just hoping to join with friends in other instances, but I get that it's tricky. Do you know if individual users can be whitelisted to awoo?
Liking all the stuff in the awoo guidelines, but I wish I could have scrolled through it before I picked a random instance to join. Maybe I could have? It's hard, this stuff isn't super clear.
Anyway, I'm psyched to join more socialized social media that's hopefully safer to navigate for marginalized folks.
@ottumon will that ever change? I mastodon.social isn't accepting new people so I'm just wondering what's gonna happen. Will folks just have to deal with having multiple accounts?

I started this to try a different instance out and see if I could snag a 2 letter handle, can people have the same handle on different instances though? If I tag @okfox does that link to my other account that's on mastodon.xyz?? Testing, hello world, etc.
