some weird or creepy corporate stuff, food

so a week ago, I was ordering my groceries online through an app for a local supermarket chain

and I canceled the order after 5 minutes of filing it because I forgot to add cheese to my list, then after adding it I ordered it again and then everything was fine

so today, a week after, someone called me. I pick up the phone and it's the supermarket, asking me as a customer why I canceled the order. I said the truth, they said thank you goodbye. (1/2)

some weird or creepy corporate stuff, food

now, I don't know if that is paranoid but.

WHY THE FUCK DO THEY HAVE A RECORD OF ME CANCELLING MY GROCERY ORDERS AND THEN ASK ME THE DETAILS?

re: some weird or creepy corporate stuff, food

@tillianisafox they love to get that kind of information from you, it's amazing how minute and detailed the data they have on every person is.

I work for an email marketing software, and I've gotten to see some of the data troves they have on folks. I once saw a business that had a column titled "mortality status". It was the most super villain thing that I've ever seen.

They have entire email campaigns set up for "abandoned carts". So them recording what you canceled and reordered is pretty par for the course.
