I'm profoundly upset about Cruz.
I'm not even sure what we can do at this point. There's just too many damn white people.
I tried to break through to my family about Cruz, about how little of a fuck he actually cares about doing his job, about how he intentionally cuts off communication with his constituents. The only thing that mattered to them was a lie that Beto was in support of late-term abortions. That's all they care about. That's all any of White America cares about.

Or alternatively they go back to Facebook and see the garbage propaganda and conspiracy theory shit the Nazis are coming up with to convince White America.
Or they go to Fox News and see that but mildly filtered for institutional merit purposes.
You can try and try again to bring them epiphanies that would convince them this is wrong, but the moment they go back to these things for their personal comfort, you lose.
re: us/texas pol
@shaderphantom I'm so sorry that you have to deal with that. *Offers hugs*
re: us/texas pol
@shaderphantom Plus, there aren’t any consequences for them either way, and change is an effort.
re: us/texas pol
Even if you manage to convince a white person what they're doing is wrong, they only remain convinced for a few hours. They go right back to being shit afterward.
Why? Because there's ten more of their white friends the next day telling them to rally in support of white supremacy, OR ELSE they will lose their friendships.
