If you ever feel bleh today, remember that the official mascot for Lo-Fi Hip-Hop is a little tired raccoon college student who is constantly online vibing to their own playlist and scrolling through feeds to chat with his pals.

In retrospect it's extremely clear that the exact moment at which "indie games" went from being a grassroots creative+cultural moment to being a sub-industry with its own gatekeepers and barriers to entry was the emergence of "indie publishers".
This is cyclical and probably inevitable but the period of a few years where most people believed it to be the former when it was in function the latter led to a shit ton of interpersonal conflicts, bad business and life decisions, and broken dreams.

Okay, thanks for the people clarifying stuff with me.

I hope this is a bit more shareable, I might try to update it a bit later but I really need to do other things.
