Y'know what, in terms of political terminology it's super irritating that social democracy ≠ democratic socialism.
Key: social democracy is capitalist (think Scandinavia), democratic socialism is not (think DSA).
It's almost as bad as how ambiguous "liberal" is in the US.
@starkatt That and that the g**d****ed NSDAP had to go and use National Socialist and confuse the hell out of generations of right-wing loonies.
Muddy political terminology in the US also means when people say "I'm a socialist" without further qualifiers it's impossible to tell if they mean "we need to overthrow capitalism" or "I think the State should own the railroads".
