@nire@witches.town @aesmael Furry as a whole just didn't click for me until I actually figured out my species. That genuine, deep identification is the *point* of being into furry stuff, as far as I'm concerned.

Hey, just so people know - AFAIK, the inability to edit toots is a tech issue.
Because of the way federation works, once your toot leaves your home instance it gets stored on each instance it touches (if you have a follower on kitty.town, say, k.t gets a copy of each toot your follower can see).
But other instances aren't obliged to check back to see whether a toot has changed.
So it's better to have a single "canonical" version of each toot than edited mutant toots wandering the federation.

i'm eating some extravagantly artificial candy & musing on someone's comment that "the natural habitat of humanity has not yet been created". it occurs to me that i find veganism more interesting than paleo diets because it dovetails with that idea, that rather than try to recreate, in modern circumstances, the diet of an era we inevitably misunderstand & politicize, we should instead ask how we can best nourish ourselves with what we have now, with minimal cruelty & maximum sustainability.
I use "primary partner" as a descriptive term, not a proscriptive one.
And even then, the contexts where it's actually useful are kind of limited.
