@cute_weeds this is good and pure.

@Leucrotta So there's something about the ductility and malleability of silver that's just... special. I honestly don't know how to describe it :<
It does what you tell it to. It doesn't fight back but it doesn't wilt either.
Also it oxidizes way slower than copper, which is nice since oxide layers are bad for soldering.
@masklayer I dig it.
Also, if you haven't seen The Iron Giant, I can't recommend it enough. It's a sweet, charming film about paranoia and xenophobia in 1950s America.
@Leucrotta There were actually two courses! The first was focused on small sculptural construction in silver. The second was a lost-wax casting course, primarily in bronze but you could do silver too if you wanted to pay for it.
I want to destroy the idea that art is something that is made by a specialized class of people.
I can't draw for shit, never really learned to paint, can't make music, can't do so many things.
But there's lots of things I can do. I write, sometimes. I've learned how to make simple jewelry. Right now, I'm making silicone copies of penises. And dammit, all that counts.
There's so, so many things out there that qualify as art, and I know there's some that you can participate in the creation of.
@mawr I'm down! Super out of practice though, and I was never more than a student.
Also it's a lot of $$ for equipment, especially hot-working gear.
Now I see it as super clumsy compared to any half-profressional work.
But I made a gemmed silver jewelry, and that's pretty dang cool.
